Summary

What started off as an existing residence that got demolished, this new single-story layout emphasizes horizontal lines and integrates smoothly with the surrounding landscape. The design features a prominent, asymmetrical low-sloped roof with wide overhanging eaves. High, narrow windows situated just beneath the roofline to let in natural light while maintaining privacy from the street. The extensive use of a textured concrete block privacy wall juxtaposed against smooth plaster and glass elements with a structural layout designed around a central entry courtyard, which highlighted this mid-century residential gem in the heart of downtown.
